The greatest advantage of the Rotz vacuum pump is that it has a high pumping rate at a relatively low inlet pressure. However, it cannot be used alone; it must be connected in series with a pre-stage vacuum pump. When the pressure in the system to be evacuated is reduced to the inlet pressure range allowed by the Roots vacuum pump by the pre-stage vacuum pump, the Roots vacuum pump can start working. Generally, the Roots vacuum pump does not allow operation under high pressure differences; otherwise, it will overload and overheat and be damaged. Therefore, when using the Roots vacuum pump, it is necessary to select the pre-stage vacuum pump reasonably and install necessary protective equipment.

The preceding pump can be a slide valve pump, vane pump, water ring pump, oil ring pump, etc. vacuum pumps. Especially when extracting gases with a large amount of water vapor, using a water ring vacuum pump as the preceding pump is very ideal. With precision gears, the running noise is extremely low; an overflow valve of the ZJP series is set inside, allowing the Roots vacuum pump and the preceding vacuum pump to start almost simultaneously under atmospheric conditions to shorten the pumping time; following international standards, the inlet and outlet flanges are precisely balanced for motion, so the vibration is extremely low; within the medium vacuum range, it has a high pumping speed, thereby reducing operating costs. Due to the strict control of the gap between the rotor and the rotor body, there is no friction in the internal moving parts of the pump cavity, and all flange components use "O" type sealing rings instead of silicone rubber flat seals to ensure easier maintenance; selected bearings are well lubricated, which can greatly extend the pump's service life, and the pump cavity is oil-free lubricated, thus ensuring the pump cavity is dry.
